Enjoy this 3 day summer festival in downtown Morris. It all happens June 25-27, 2009. Beginning Thursday and running through Saturday night, there is something for everyone during Nostalgia Days. Celebrating its 13th year, Nostalgia Days will present three very special nights of entertainment, including "County Sky Band" on Thursday, "The Stringrays" on Friday, June 26th and "The Clients" on June 27th. Annual favorites like the local talent showcase and pony rides will round out a weekend of great fun.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, June 25

11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. — Steak Fry – Corner of Washington St. and Franklin St.
– Sponsored by Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby to benefit our local PADS organization (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)

6:00 p.m. — Bone-fied Pet Parade – Liberty St. to the Grundy County Courthouse

6:30 p.m . — “County Sky Band” – Courthouse Lawn
– Get ready for an evening of great country music! Country Sky Band has performed for thousands of people across the country, delivering an entertaining mix of current and classic country music favorites. They have performed as openers for some of the biggest stars in country music, including Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, John Michael Montgomery, Travis Tritt, and Emerson Drive. (Rain location – Morris High School)

Friday, June 26

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. — Downtown Morris
– Visit our unique gift and apparel stores for a chance to win a collection of gift certificates from our downtown retailers. The drawing for this “grand prize” will be on Saturday, June 27th at 6:25 pm at the courthouse stage. Stores may have their own drawings as well.

10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. — Petting Zoo – Corner of Main St. and Franklin St.
– Step into the pen and get up close to sheep, baby goats, lambs, baby pot belly pigs, chickens, ducks, ducklings, chicks, goslings, and more!

10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. — Grundy County Historical Society – Illinois Ave. and Nettle St.
– Visit the historical society in their new location – the historic Coleman Hardware Building!

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. — Grundy Bank Brown Bag Lunch – Grundy County Courthouse Lawn
– Featuring Jerry Beier.

11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. — Explore the Canal by Canoe – Next to Canal Boat “Heritage” on Illinois Ave.
– Canoe on the I & M Canal! Freeman Sports has rentals available at $10/ hour.

1:00 - 4:00 p.m. — Ice Cream Social – Grundy Bank Courtyard (behind the bank, off of Washington St.)

6:30 p.m. — The Stingrays – Courthouse Lawn
– The Stingrays are returning to Morris with their 50's, 60's, 70's rock & roll favorites. They have a fun, costumed interactive show – filled with trivia contests, dance contests and zany moves that get the crowd dancing and singing! (Rain location – Morris High School)

Saturday, June 27

8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. — French Country Markets – Canal Port Park on Illinois Ave.
- Stroll through the open air markets and select fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, jellies, jams, honey and more! Or visit one of the artisan's selling one of a kind creations!

9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. — Downtown Morris

– A map of the locations of this year’s many beautiful gardens may be picked up at the library, but you will want to be sure to enjoy the All-American tea with delectable treats in a beautiful garden courtyard while you are here!
