The first annual Liberty Arts Festival is coming to Downtown Morris!  Mark your calendars for June 25, 26 and 27!  There will be plenty of art, music, theater and dance, as well as and activities for children and adults alike.  A complete schedule will be available soon!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, June 25

9am-5pm ART ON THE STREETS Downtown Morris – Visit your favorite downtown businesses for shopping, sidewalk chalk, and art related activities. View decorated chairs along the streets, that will be auctioned for charity on Saturday, 6:30pm.

10am-3pm GRUNDY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MUSEUM 510 W. Illinois Avenue – Local art & photography, including Larry Larsen, Virginia Brown, Elizabeth “Bunny” Mushro, Guy Osmonson & Tony Minard.

11am- 7pm CENTURY 21 STEAK FRY Corner of Washington & Franklin Sponsored by Century 21 Coleman-Hornsby, benefits Easter Seals.

1pm-3pm DRAWING CLASS
Morris Area Public Library, 604 Liberty – “The Making of a Super Hero”, instructed by Dan Laib Open to ages 11-19. Registration required: 815-942-6880.

5:30 pm-6:30pm PAWS FOR PAINTING
Grundy County Courthouse Lawn
Bring your pets down to express their artistic talents using pet-friendly paint. Prizes will be awarded to the best artists!

6:30pm-8:30pm – CONCERT: “The Clients”

Don’t miss this local favorite! The Clients have a way of making you feel like you have been friends for years. (Rain location – Morris High School)

Patriots 4 Heroes will be on hand to help kids create “From our hands and hearts to you” prints for troops. Free.

Habitat for Humanity will be serving up your favorite pork products to benefit their great organization.

11am – 3pm – ART SCAVENGER HUNT
TNT Dance Studio, 406 Liberty Street,
Kids get a list of art-related items to locate at the festival! Prizes will be awarded while they last!

11am-5pm ART WALK
Liberty Street from Jefferson to Chapin
Streets will come alive with an explosion of color and creativity. Local artists will discuss, demonstrate and sell their artwork while local dance studios and musicians bring “Music and Movement” to the streets.

12pm “MARY POPPINS”
Grundy County Courthouse Lawn
Enjoy musical selections from Small Town Theatrics’ summer production, scheduled July 23-26. www.smalltowntheatrics.org.
